Motor-scooter driver in serious condition at UK Hospital after wreck

A Lincoln County man was in serious condition Thursday morning after he was hit by a car Wednesday in the county while riding a motor scooter, according to a University of Kentucky Hospital spokesperson.

Thomas Pope, 29, of Crab Orchard, was riding his Honda Spree south on Ky. 39 in front of a Toyota Camry driven by Robert Clark, 32, of Eubank. Clark's car struck the side of the scooter as the scooter slowed and turned onto Ky. 3245 about 5 p.m. Wednesday, a Kentucky State Police news release said.

Pope was flown to UK Hospital with "multiple severe injuries," police said.
