Ky. soldier among 4 indicted in attack on Ohio homeless man

CINCINNATI — An Ohio grand jury has indicted three soldiers and another man on felonious assault charges in the beating of a homeless man who was sleeping under a Cincinnati bridge.

Indicted Thursday in Hamilton County were Pvt. Riley Feller, 24, of Fort Knox, Ky.; Michael Hesson, 24, of Cincinnati; Spec. Travis Condor, 25; and Matthew MacMurtrie, 21. Prosecutors said Condor and MacMurtrie are stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C.

Prosecutors said John Johnson, 52, was hit with a baseball bat and a pipe on April 10. They said the assailants just wanted to "kick somebody's butt."

Calls to Feller's and Hesson's attorneys were not returned. It could not be immediately determined whether the others have attorneys.
