A Bracken County man was sentenced to nine years in federal prison on Friday for receiving child pornography, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced in a press release.
Ronald Peed, Jr., 33, of Augusta, pleaded guilty to the charge in April 2010, admitting he downloaded at least 600 child pornography images; he admitted some of those images featured prepubescent children and others depicted violent and sadistic acts of child abuse, according to the release.
He was charged after an undercover operation of the FBI, which investigated with the Kentucky Attorney General's Office.
After his release, Peed will be on probation for 15 years and will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
