The body of missing 72-year-old Mary Littleton was recovered Saturday morning in the Little Sandy River, according to Kentucky State Police. Littleton was washed away when her mobile home was destroyed by flooding Wednesday.
Rescue workers found the wreckage of her home Wednesday, but she was not inside, county officials said. The Grayson County Fire Department and Rowan County Rescue Squad located the body Saturday, and Deputy Carter County Coroner Ronnie Wallace identified her as Littleton. The incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
