Man is hospitalized after stabbing in Berea

One man was arrested and another was hospitalized after being stabbed multiple times with a pocket knife in Berea early Monday.

State police said Robert W. Short, 22, of Richmond, and Jordan Palmer, 22, of Berea, had been smoking marijuana together and began fighting. Short was stabbed in the back and stomach during the fight.

After state police arrived at the Old Wallacetown Road location at 2:34 a.m., Short was taken to St. Joseph-Berea and then transferred to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. He was listed in fair condition Monday night.

Palmer was arrested and charged with second degree assault.
