A Hazard businesswoman who headed one of the top interior design firms in Eastern Kentucky died Saturday after a long battle with breast cancer.
Linda Sparkman, 55, was the lead designer and part-owner of Silk Purse Furniture and Interiors in Hazard for 21 years.
Sparkman, an accomplished seamstress, was well-known for her custom window treatments and had clients throughout Eastern and Central Kentucky. Sparkman's clients also often hired her to do business and vacation properties in Florida, Tennessee and North Carolina. Her commercial projects included work for the University of Pittsburgh, Western Kentucky University and the University of Kentucky. She was a member of the American Society of Interior Design.
She was the daughter of Gerri and Denver Campbell, who owned the Denver Campbell's Market in Hazard. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Home Church in Gorman Hollow. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
