State police investigating Lexington woman's death in Shelby prison

The Kentucky State Police post in Frankfort is investigating a death at the Kentucky Correctional Institution for Women in Pewee Valley, according to a news release.

Yuxin Yang, 37, of Lexington was found unresponsive in her prison cell Sunday. She was pronounced dead at Jewish Hospital Medical Center Northeast in Louisville by the Jefferson County coroner. The prison is in Shelby County.

No foul play is suspected at this time, according to the release.

Yang was a Scott County inmate who was being held at the prison for medical reasons, according to The Associated Press. She had been there since April 2.
