Woman is charged with attempted murder in Fleming County incident

A 67-year-old woman was charged with attempted murder and wanton endangerment after police say she fired a pistol toward her daughter and a crowd of people in Fleming County on Monday night.

Mamie Christina Hamm, who lives on Stockton Road in Wallingford, shot at Direnda Kielman and a group of people standing in a nearby yard just before 6 p.m. Monday, according to a news release from state police.

She was taken to the Mason County Detention Center and charged with nine counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and one count of attempted murder, domestic violence.
