State police are investigating the death of a woman from Olive Hill whose body was found in a remote area of Carter County on Saturday morning.
Family members who had been deer hunting found Tammy K. Ratcliff's body in a wooded area about a half-mile up an old logging road off Ky. 1496 near the Carter-Lawrence county line, said Trooper Elliott Gollihue of the state police. Ratcliff, 29, who had been missing since Wednesday, was pronounced dead at 9:18 a.m.
Carter County Coroner George Sparks said the cause of death remains undetermined, and an autopsy is to be conducted Sunday morning.
Gollihue said state police have not ruled out foul play.
