Middlesboro man's death being investigated as a homicide

A man from Flat Lick was charged with murder Saturday night in connection with the death of a Middlesboro man whose body was found Friday.

State police arrested William J. Anderson, 32, at 8:30 p.m., charging him with murder in the death of Bobby Wiggins, 61, according to a news release.

State police said they got a report of the body being found in a wooded area at 11 a.m. Friday, and they located the body in Bell County just after 2 p.m.

After an autopsy, the body was identified as that of Wiggins, who Bell County Coroner Jay Steele said had been missing since Nov. 23.

Steele said Hampton Funeral Home in Barbourville is in charge of arrangements for Wiggins.
