Adair, Morgan counties to get federal money to help after 2011 flood

FRANKFORT — Kentucky is to receive $2.2 million in federal aid to strengthen infrastructure in Adair and Morgan counties in the wake of severe flooding last year.

U.S. Commerce Secretary John Bryson said Monday Adair County will get $1.6 million to build a sludge conditioning system at its wastewater treatment facility. The project is expected to help keep more than 1,450 jobs and create 20 new jobs in the region.

Morgan County is to receive $626,000 for a new bridge across Caney Creek. The project is expected to retain more than 65 jobs.
