A Clay County man was killed Thursday when his car collided with a truck, according to a news release from the Kentucky State Police Vehicle Enforcement section.
Rodney Byrd, 36, of Manchester was driving south on U.S. 25 about four miles south of London when his 2008 Chevrolet Impala crossed into the opposite land and collided head-on with a commercial vehicle owned by a Somerset pallet company, according to the news release.
The driver of the truck, Jacob Burton, 25, of Somerset, was not hurt.
Byrd was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the news release, which was issued Friday.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. It is not yet clear whether drug or alcohol use played a role in the wreck, police said.
