Briscoe was driving the truck, which left the road and hit a tree. The vehicle nearly went into the nearby Red River.

Authorities received a report about a truck running off Hardwicks Creek Road shortly before 9:30 a.m. Monday, said Rob Halsey at the Powell County dispatch center.

A female passenger was in the truck and was taken to an area hospital. Her name and condition were not available.
