A Lawrence County man was killed Wednesday in a logging accident, according to a news release from Kentucky State Police.
Joseph D. Adams, 49, of Webbville was operating a piece of machinery called a skidder, which is used to drag logs out of the woods, when it malfunctioned and began to roll down a hill. Adams was working in steep terrain, police said.
Adams reportedly tried to jump away from the skidder but did not clear it and was hit. He died as a result of his injuries, according to the news release.
