Meth maker busted in parking lot of Danville Wal-Mart, police say

Danville police arrested a Nicholasville man Saturday morning after finding evidence of an active meth lab in his vehicle.

Christopher A. Lunsford, 37, was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, 1st degree.

He was lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center after being decontaminated at the scene and checked at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Danville police said officers went to a Wal-Mart parking lot shortly after 8 a.m. after receiving reports of a possibly intoxicated man stumbling around next to a gold Jeep.

Police said they found Lunsford in the vehicle, along with evidence of active meth lab.

According to a press release, state police later found additional evidence in the vehicle, including an HCl gas generator, over-the-counter sudaphedrine, lithium batteries and other meth-making supplies.

An investigation is continuing.
