The Kentucky Commission on Human Rights is gathering information about an April 5 incident at Susie's Bottoms Up in Raywick, in which multiple people said they were initially denied entrance to the bar because of their race. According to individuals who visited the bar that night, African-Americans were not being allowed inside, allegedly as a response to an incident the previous week.
"All witnesses are asked to come forward and provide the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights with information, and any individual who believes he or she was a victim of discrimination is encouraged to file a complaint with us," John J. Johnson, executive director of the human rights commission, said via email.
