4 arrested in meth lab bust

A suspicious smell led to the discovery of two methamphetamine labs and the evacuation of the Sparta hotel where the labs were found Friday, according to Kentucky State Police in Campbellsburg.

Authorities were called to the Speedway Inn about 9 a.m. Friday, where they found two active meth labs and several ingredients used in making meth in a room at the hotel, state police said.

The inn was evacuated while police disposed of the labs.

Police arrested Andrew Jones, 22, of Carrollton; Sarah Smith, 21, of Winchester; Tyler Wilson, 21, of Sparta; and Calista Robertson, 22, of Worthville in connection with the incident and took them to the Carroll County Detention Center. They were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a defaced firearm, possession of marijuana, and first-degree wanton endangerment, state police said.
