A Laurel County man was killed and another was critically injured in a crash Tuesday morning, according to a news release from Sheriff John Root.
Robert Landon Parker, 19, of East Bernstadt was driving on Ky. 1305 about four miles east of London when his 1988 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck ran off the right shoulder of the road. Parker apparently overcorrected; the truck went across the road and hit two trees on the other side, according to the news release.
The road was rain-slickened at the time, police said.
Parker was partly ejected from the truck and died at the scene.
His passenger, James A. Woods, 19, of London suffered critical head injuries and was flown to University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.
The wreck happened at 10:23 a.m.
