Teen hunter missing in Fleming

MOREHEAD — More search and rescue dogs were expected Monday to aid in the search for a 15-year-old hunter in Fleming County.

Kentucky State Police said they were contacted about 8 p.m. Saturday after Ricky Dean Hamilton failed to meet his father after a hunting trip in the Tilton area of Fleming County. The teenager was last seen late Saturday afternoon.

The Ledger Independent said the teen and his father, Ricky Hamilton, were dropped off around 4:30 p.m. EST at a wooded area and separated with plans to meet later at a designated area.

The boy is described as a white male, 5'8", weighing 150 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket and pants and an orange toboggan, police told WKYT.

The search for the boy continues, state police said Sunday evening.

Fleming County Emergency Management Director Dwayne Price says in addition to ground searches which were aided by four-wheelers and those on horseback, aerial searches were also conducted. Price says more search and rescue dogs were brought in Monday to assist.

Agencies participating included state police, Tilton Fire Department, Fleming County Fire Department, Rowan County Search and Rescue and Buffalo Trace Search and Rescue.
