A Pike County man was killed Friday when his sport-utility vehicle overturned in a river, state police said in a news release issued Monday.
Louie B. Stewart, 48, of Draffin was driving on River Road when his 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee ran off the road and into the water, coming to rest on its roof, state police said.
A passenger managed to get out of the Jeep and told authorities Stewart was still inside.
Stewart was found dead in the vehicle after it was pulled out of the water, according to the news release.
