Carlisle woman dies after being struck by vehicle

A 20-year-old woman died after being hit by a vehicle while walking in Carlisle Tuesday.

Heather Stith, of Carlisle, was pronounced dead at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital at 8:10 p.m., according to a news release from the Fayette County coroner's office.

Stith had been hit by a vehicle while walking on East Union Road in Carlisle at 12:06 a.m. Tuesday. Her death, from "complications of multiple blunt force injuries," is being investigated as an accident by the Carlisle Police Department, according to the news release.

Clark Funeral Home in Carlisle is in charge of arrangements.
