Western Kentucky judge injured in plane crash

A circuit court judge from Western Kentucky was injured in a plane crash Tuesday afternoon.

Tyler Gill was piloting a 1946 Stinson model 108 plane that crashed in a field near 850 Davis Mill Road in Elkton just after 5 p.m., according to a news release from state police.

The plane had taken off from the Elkton Airport.

Gill, of Allensville, the circuit court judge serving Logan and Todd Counties, was taken to Gateway Memorial Hospital for treatment.

One passenger, Jerry Humble, of Russellville, was with Gill when the crash occurred, state police said.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash, according to the news release.
