A recently retired Eastern Kentucky University employee died Monday in a mowing accident in Lincoln County.
Harold Denham, 63, was mowing on a steep incline at his home in Stanford at about 10:30 a.m. when the mower began to slide on the dewy grass, said Lincoln County Coroner Farris Marcum.
Denham tried to turn the mower to avoid hitting a fence, but it flipped, pinning him against the fence, Marcum said. He was found about 30 minutes later by his wife.
Marcum said Denham died of asphyxiation at the scene.
