A woman died and a man was injured early Tuesday in a single-vehicle wreck in Russell County.
Kentucky State Police said they think alcohol was a factor in the crash, which happened at 4:45 a.m. about a half-mile west of Russell Springs on the Louie B. Nunn Parkway.
Johnny Brandt, 26, of Jamestown was driving a 1993 Jeep Cherokee east when the vehicle dropped off the shoulder of the road, hit an embankment, went airborne and flipped, according to a news release.
A passenger, Deanna Burton, 40, of Russell Springs, was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown out. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
