One person died and three were listed in critical condition after a three-vehicle wreck in Monticello on Tuesday afternoon.
Louanne Ellis, 57, of Somerset, was a passenger in a Toyota Camry that was rear-ended by a Kia Spectra while traveling east on Ky. 90 at about 1:25 p.m., according to a news release from state police.
After being hit by the Kia, the Camry went into the westbound lane, where it was hit in the passenger's side by a Dodge Caravan.
Ellis was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Camry, Jessica Whitaker, 28, of Somerset, was taken to UK, where she was in critical condition, state police said.
The driver of the Caravan, Veila Stephenson, 75, and a passenger, Gladys Parmley, 69, both of Monticello, also were taken to UK in critical condition.
State police said the driver of the Kia, Eric Branscum, 25, of Stearns, was not wearing a seat belt. All those in the Camry and Caravan were wearing seat belts.
Police said they do not suspect drug or alcohol involvement.
