Crash kills Campbellsville man

A Campbellsville man died Friday night after his car overturned and was struck by another on Ky. 49 about a mile north of Liberty, Kentucky State Police said Saturday.

Police said the Casey County coroner pronounced Charles D. Kirtley, 41, dead at the scene.

Kirtley was traveling northbound on Ky. 49 at 6:08 p.m. Friday when he lost control of his 2007 GMC, police said.

The car overturned and came to rest in the southbound lane, police said.

A 1990 Dodge, operated by 42-year-old Andrew Richardson of Bradfordsville, was traveling south on Ky. 49 and struck the Kirtley vehicle's roof as it lay on its side, police said.

Richardson was not injured; both drivers were wearing seat belts, police said.
