Driver thrown from car and killed in crash in Washington County

A Washington County man was killed early Monday morning when his car crashed and he was thrown from the vehicle, Kentucky State Police said.

Brian Chesser, 29, of Willisburg died at the scene on Ky. 555 about 14 miles north of Springfield in Washington County, according to Kentucky State Police at the Columbia post.

A passenger in Chesser's car suffered injuries that weren't considered life-threatening, police said.

It happened about 12:20 a.m. Monday near Polin Road.

According to state police, Chesser was driving north on Ky. 555 when he lost control of his 1996 Mustang, which ran off the road and crashed. Chesser was not wearing a seat belt, police said.

The passenger, Richard Robinson, 25, of Springfield, was treated at a Lebanon hospital for his injuries, police said.
