A Sassafras man was killed early Friday morning in a one-car accident in Wolfe County, Kentucky State Police said Friday.
Linda Ring, 66, was eastbound on the Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway near the 38-mile marker when she lost control of her 2012 Chevy Mailbu, state police said. The vehicle ran off the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned. Ring's son, James T. Sherrow, 42, was ejected during the crash and died at the scene.
Kentucky State Police received the call shortly before 4 a.m. Friday.
Ring was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, state police said.
