The new plan for the massive Louisville Center City project has grown from a $259 million to $289 million venture, and the Cordish Co. is stepping aside to let Omni Hotels & Resorts be the lone developer of the strategic development that will feature the city's third-tallest tower.
Mayor Greg Fischer announced updated plans for the project Tuesday, saying they have "grown in scale and in importance to the city" since originally disclosed last March.
The hotel tower will be 30-plus stories, subject to final design in the next six to nine months. Ground is to be broken this fall, with the project to be completed by Kentucky Derby 2018, Fischer said.
