Four children and two adults, all from the same family, were killed in a collision in Wayne County on Friday afternoon, Kentucky State Police said.
Wayne County Coroner Forrest Hicks identified the six as Tena Proctor, 41, Proctor's daughter Sarah Ellis, 25, Proctor's son, Nathan Proctor, 12, and Sarah Ellis's three children: Christian Barnhouse, 4, Zoe Bertram, 2, and Jace Bertram, 17-months-old.
They were from Monticello.
Troopers received a call at 5:50 p.m. about the accident on Ky. 90 about 3½ miles west of Monticello.
Kentucky State Police officials said Saturday morning that a 1999 Chrysler Cirrus car with 6 people inside was traveling west on Ky. 90. Police said the passenger car for some unknown reason crossed the center lane and struck a 2001 Dodge pickup traveling east. Both people in the pickup truck were transported to hospitals.
Funeral arrangements for the family were incomplete at Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home in Monticello.
Tena Proctor and Nathan Proctor are survived by a husband and father, Johnny Proctor.
Sarah Brennan, who had also used the last name Ellis and whose first name was listed by the funeral home as Audrey, is survived by her husband, Michael Brennan, and a son, Elijah Ellis.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to a memorial fund.
