A Northern Kentucky X-ray technician has pleaded guilty to a federal charge that he allowed someone without a license to perform X-rays, then billed Medicare and Medicaid for it.
Robert Moyer pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court on Friday to health-care fraud, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
Between June 2010 and December 2010, Moyer, of Fort Thomas, falsified documentation to conceal the fact that someone without a license had done the X-rays. The government will pay only for medical services performed by a licensed professional.
Moyer filed more than 3,800 fraudulent claims valued at $112,174.
He faces up to 10 years in prison and is scheduled to be sentenced July 16.
