AT&T working on network

Some cell phone users experienced difficulty making and receiving calls late Tuesday and Wednesday.

One major carrier, AT&T Wireless, said it was assessing its network Wednesday afternoon for damaged equipment and to see whether extra generators would be needed.

"While we do know that our customers may be experiencing service interruptions on our wireless and wireline networks, network technicians are working around the clock to restore service to all affected customers as quickly as possible," said Cathy Lewandowski, a spokeswoman for AT&T.

"Power outages may have affected a few of our wireless sites, but the core AT&T network supporting wireless and wireline services continues to perform well during this ice storm," Lewandowski said.
