Burgoo: Something to stew over

President Barack Obama's weekend beach getaway, calculated to provide tourism-promoting photo ops, and counter the public misperception that the Gulf Coast is one long tarball-littered pelican-killing field, was unfortunately overshadowed by the bombast-media noise machine.

Irate that Obama stood on principles of freedom of religion and respect for private property to defend the construction of a Muslim community center in lower Manhattan, the relentless misinformation mob managed to both denigrate the Constitution and deliver a back-handed slap to desperate Gulf Coast businesses who no doubt needed the image makeover.

Never mind, the political points were scored, and the president is back in Washington, leaving behind not a trace of his mini-vacation. Except, wait .... are those his daughter's footprints near the remains of a sand-mosque?
