The latest Kentuckian to give his life in Afghanistan's Helmand province is Cpl. Aaron M. Faust of Louisville.
Cpl. Faust, 22, joined the Marines after graduating from DeSales High School in 2007 and had recently reenlisted for another four-year tour of duty.
The Defense Department said Cpl. Faust died while supporting combat operations April 15 in Helmand.
The son of Tess and Ken Faust, Cpl. Faust belonged to the Okolona Veterans of Foreign Wars, an organization in which both his parents are active.

Cpl. Faust was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C. He also had served in Japan.
Funeral services for Cpl. Faust will be Wednesday at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Louisville with burial following at Calvary Cemetery.
