Experience and ideas make Independent John-Mark Hack the best choice by far in today's special election for the 56th District state House seat.
Hack's varied and deep experience in both government and private business would make him an asset to the district and state.
He displays a superior grasp of the issues, and has run a positive, issues-based campaign, including support for opening up state budget negotiations to public view.
Voters might worry that an Independent would be shut out of a partisan legislature, but Hack is articulate and has worked with the legislature before, including as Gov. Paul Patton's point man on agriculture.
