President Donald Trump rode in on a Trojan horse named Populism, only to unleash his true intent after the inauguration: to erode democracy as we know it in a power grab of epic proportions.
In his unrelenting war on truth, he has managed to weaponize his lies, thus keeping his opponents so busy rushing to extinguish the hundreds of daily lie-fires that there is little energy left to address what’s happening behind the scenes. However, thanks to the media, this strategy has been exposed and may not be working quite as well.
Still, our best hope for putting an end to Trump’s nefarious behavior is to open the eyes of his supporters. How long will it take before they, too, stand together with their betrayed promises and unfilled hopes and shout, “enough”?
One is reminded of that optimistic birthday boy who keeps rifling through a box of straw saying, “I know there’s a pony in here somewhere.”
