The Herald-Leader reported this quote from Gov. Matt Bevin, given in an interview on NPR’s Morning Edition: “It’s just a matter of time before somebody will breach whatever security measure is put in place. If someone truly wants to perpetrate evil, it has always been able to be done. It’s a sad and tragic reality.”
Based on his own statements and reluctance to take any concrete action at all on school safety, I have to wonder why Kentucky pays even one cent towards security and safety for the governor.
He appears to be a fatalist, so I wonder if it could be fatal. I propose the state cease any and all security for Bevin. He claims it’s ineffective at best, so why are the taxpayers wasting money?
Put up or shut up, Governor. Does security only work for politicians, not for kids?
