Lost in all the noise about Kentucky’s pension and tax-plan changes is the fact that pensioners will pay up to $500 a year in income taxes. For a two-pensioner household the amount is $1,000. These are people on fixed incomes. There was almost no advance warning on the change to allow retirees to comment and/or plan for the sizable increase. We too will take this into account in November.
