Oily wake-up call
Remember Clara Peller in the "where's the beef?" commercial? When I watch the BP (British Poop) show, she appears and says "there's the leak." On Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, on Day 68, she still says "there's the leak."
When will it end? When will we wake up to the need for quality in our processes, not just in our TVs and cars, and to the need for clean energy? Those pelicans are saying "this is not clean energy."
This country used to be able to put man on the moon. Today? I am not so sure. Do we really hear the message? Do we realize the truth?
We used to lead. Now the world laughs at us. How long are we going to have the Dutch on standby with their superior oil-capture technology? Why don't we welcome the help and say "there's the leak, help us soak it up, for goodness sakes, near the source." Not for 20 years on the beaches.
What do they think of us in Europe, leaders or idiots? We need to wake up and get to the forefront of clean energy alternatives, diesel from coal, natural gas, synthetic gas from coal, biofuels that net results, big changes now, not when it's too late. And where's the truth about how dirty the old way of burning coal is? Here is our opportunity to take the lead, create new jobs and be responsible. We have listened long enough to "there's the leak." Where's the beef?
