I appreciate the opportunity to ask voters of Fayette County for their votes on Tuesday, Nov. 2. I thank the countless supporrers who have given their time, energy and those who have "Ellinger" signs. Most importantly, I thank my family for their unwavering support and help.
I thank the editorial board for its endorsement in the May primary. The May 7 editorial said I am "a reliable presence on the council.." In the Oct. 24 editorial, the editorial board said, "It's impossible to not like Ellinger, whose unfailing civility is an asset on a council that inevitably has its share of rancor."
Although I was not endorsed by the five-person editorial board Oct. 24, I am proudly endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police, the Lexington Professional Firefighters and the Civil Service Employees Association who I work with on a daily basis.
I thank the voters for giving me the opportunity for representing them on the Urban County council for the last eight years as an at-large member.
I will continue to be fiscally responsible, a watchdog for your tax dollars. I know it's your money we are spending and we have to be good stewards with it in providing basic services to all our citizens.
I thank the citizens of Fayette County for giving me the privilege to serve, and I ask for your vote on Tuesday so I can continue to work hard for you.
