The progress of Kentucky's agricultural industry is dependent upon strong leadership providing experience and a clear plan to encourage growth. I believe I am the only candidate who meets those expectations; and that is why I am running for Kentucky commissioner of agriculture.
If I am your next ag commissioner, Kentucky's agriculture industry will be in the hands of someone who has built a lifetime of experience, as a farmer and as a legislator. I earned a college degree from Western Kentucky University in agriculture. I am a former president of the Kentucky Future Farmers of America.
In addition, I am proud to be the only candidate who has any agriculture experience; I am a full-time family farmer, owning a 950 acre commercial beef cattle farm.
I have extensive legislative experience, serving in the state legislature for 11 years. I have received numerous awards and accolades for my conservative voting record and dedication to constituent services.
Some of my priorities as Kentucky's next commissioner of agriculture would be creating and expanding markets for Kentucky's agricultural products, enhancing rural economic development and developing support programs to help young farmers. Kentucky's agriculture industry has potential that can only be reached with the right leadership in place. I believe I am the only candidate who has the experience and the passion to be that leader. Therefore, I humbly ask for your vote on Nov. 8.
