BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Vanderbilt outpolled perennial league power Tennessee in the Southeastern Conference coaches' pre-season poll unveiled Wednesday.
The Commodores were 25-9 overall and 11-3 in the SEC last season when they advanced to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament.

Kentucky, which finished fourth last season in the SEC with an 8-6 mark, was picked to finish seventh.
UK sophomore Victoria Dunlap was named to the coach's second team.
Dunlap is Kentucky's leading returning scorer and rebounder from last season. The 6-foot-1 forward averaged 7.3 points and 6.9 rebounds a game. She ranked 12th in the SEC in rebounding, the highest rank among freshman.
Auburn guard DeWanna Bonner, a 6-foot-4 senior from Fairfield, Ala., was voted pre-season Player of the Year.
