Bryan Station's Tevin McCaden had another huge game running the ball, but the Defenders showed they have a passing attack, too, in a 38-26 victory over Shelby County in the iHigh Football Frenzy at Tates Creek Friday night.
McCaden, who ran for 236 yards and five touchdowns in a rout of Clark County last week, darted and powered his way to 263 yards and four TDs against Shelby County.
But Bryan Station's air game was effective, too. It produced the decisive score.
After McCaden drew the focus of the Rockets' defense with four consecutive carries, quarterback Brady Boling and Tyriq Roberts hooked up on a 31-yard TD pass that regained the lead for Bryan Station with 4:56 left.

Shelby County had edged ahead 26-24 a few minutes earlier on Matthew Nakatani's 23-yard field goal.
Boling also had two key completions in a drive that put Bryan Station on top 24-23. Chris Blake had a 20-yard catch, and tight end Jaron Mock had a 19-yarder that set up McCaden's third TD.
Boling finished the night 5-for-9 for 106 yards, a TD and an interception.
The teams took turns grabbing the momentum.
McCaden's 22-yard TD run, and Jose Marin's 29-yard field goal gave the Defenders an early 10-0 lead over Shelby County, making its season debut.
The Rockets got rolling in the second quarter, ringing up three TDs. Brenden Cresap's 17-yard TD pass to Ben Axline gave the Rockets their initial boost.
Nigel Beach's one-yard score made it 14-10.
After Bryan Station fumbled at its own 21, Shelby County made the Defenders pay with a quick scoring drive capped by Beach's two-yard run. That gave the Rockets a 20-10 halftime lead.
It was a see-saw second half.
McCaden was the workhorse all night for Bryan Station. He had 32 carries, the last one a 39-yard TD burst up the middle that sealed the victory with 1:10 left.
Despite the loss, Shelby County had to be encouraged by the play of Cresap. The Rockets quarterback, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in the third game last year, showed he has regained his form Friday night.
Cresap completed 13 of 24 passes for 156 yards and a TD.
The Rockets also showed a strong running attack. Quiten Cottrell rushed for 97 yards and Edwin Thomas for 96.
Axline suffered what appeared to be a head injury in the fourth quarter. Play was halted for 15 minutes until an ambulance arrived and took him to the hospital.
Bryan Station lost star receiver Chaz Mitchell to a jaw injury late in the first half.
