Fresh off an impressive win over No. 18 LSU on Thursday, Kentucky must now refocus as it goes for its first five-game SEC winning streak in school history.
The Cats will put their current run of success on the line against Mississippi State and former UK coach Sharon Fanning-Otis on Sunday in Starkville, Miss.
Both teams are coming off huge victories Thursday night. The Wildcats snapped a 16-game losing skid to the Lady Tigers and charted their first win in Baton Rouge since 1995. Mississippi State shocked No. 9 Georgia with a 74-66 win in Starkville, its highest-ranked victory since defeating No. 9 Florida in 2001.
"They are very talented and probably have as much scoring power as anybody in the conference," said UK Coach Matthew Mitchell, a 1995 MSU graduate. "Georgia is a really good basketball team and Mississippi State put it on them pretty good. It will be another test for us."
