Kentucky basketball recruits on display this weekend

University of Kentucky basketball fans with an eye on the future will have a number of chances this weekend to watch players the Wildcats have already signed or are targeting in future recruiting classes.

The TV lineup ...

Friday, 7 p.m. (ESPN2): St. Patrick (N.J.) vs. Winter Park (Fla.)

■ Kentucky signee Michael Gilchrist of St. Patrick goes against Duke signee Austin Rivers. Ex-Sayre star Dakari Johnson also plays for St. Patrick. He's a freshman center who already has UK high on his list.

Saturday, 4 p.m. (ESPNU): St. Anthony (N.J.) vs. DeMatha (Md.)

■ 2012 UK target Kyle Anderson plays for St. Anthony. He's a 6-foot-8 junior who can play both guard spots and the three. He's rated No. 5 by Rivals, No. 21 by Scout and No. 18 by ESPN.

Monday, 11 a.m. (ESPNU): Christ the King (N.Y.) vs. Westchester Country Day (N.C.)

■ 2012 target Omar Calhoun and 2013 target Isaiah Lewis play for Christ the King. Calhoun is a 6-4 junior point guard ranked No. 67 by both Rivals and Scout and No. 28 by ESPN. Lewis is a 6-3 sophomore guard.

Monday, 1 p.m. (ESPNU): St. Patrick (N.J.) vs. Bishop Gorman (Nev.)

■ Gilchrist and Johnson vs. Shabazz Muhammad (Bishop Gorman), a 6-5 junior shooting guard who is probably UK's top 2012 recruiting target at this point. Muhammad is ranked No. 3 by both Rivals and Scout and No. 5 by ESPN. Muhammad's top three schools are UK, Duke and UCLA.

And a short drive away

UK signee Anthony Davis, a 6-10 forward from Chicago, is playing in the Flyin' to the Hoop Invitational in Kettering, Ohio (just south of Dayton), on Saturday.

Davis' Perspectives Charter team takes on Meadowdale (Ohio) at 7 p.m., in James S. Trent Arena.
