Coming up: Graded-stakes winners Joyful Victory, Kathmanblu and Pachattack are part of an eight-horse field in the Grade III Hillard Lyons Doubledogdare Stakes going 11⁄16 miles on the main track Friday.

Final furlong

■ Grade I winner Wise Dan will make his 2012 debut Sunday when he faces six rivals in the $150,000, Grade III Ben Ali Stakes at 11⁄8 miles on the main track. Trained by Charles Lopresti, Wise Dan is undefeated at the Ben Ali distance, and he closed out his 2011 campaign with a victory in the Grade I Clark Handicap at Churchill Downs. Other graded-stakes winners in the field include Big Blue Kitten and Rogue Romance.

■ Grade I winner Stephanie's Kitten, third as the favorite in the Central Bank Ashland Stakes opening weekend, worked 5 furlongs in 1:01.80 on the Keeneland turf Thursday for trainer Wayne Catalano. Also working on the turf were veteran stakes campaigners Simmard and Musketier for trainer Roger Attfield. Working in company over 6 furlongs, Simmard, racing on the outside, was clocked in 1:15.80 and finished a length in front of Musketier (1:16). Musketier has won the past two runnings of the Grade II Elkhorn that serves as the closing-day feature next Friday.
