Pena's double in ninth breaks scoreless tie as Legends beat Kannapolis 2-0

Roberto Pena's two-out, two-run double in the ninth inning accounted for the only runs in the Lexington Legends' 2-0 victory over the Kannapolis Intimidators on Thursday night in Kannapolis, N.C.

Pena's double to right off Intimidators reliever Stew Brase (0-2) scored Matt Duffy and Alex Todd.

Lexington's Nick Tropeano (1-0) pitched eight scoreless innings, and Kannapolis' Scott Snodgress went seven without allowing a run.

Brase worked a scoreless eighth before giving up the double to Pena.

Tropeano struck out nine, raising his season total to 27 in three starts, before giving way to Legends closer Jason Chowning, who struck out the side in the bottom of the ninth for his second save.
