Bennie Coney completed 28 of 35 passes for 261 yards and a touchdown and Ethan Thomas ran for two touchdowns to lead Eastern Kentucky to a 51-13 win over Austin Peay in the Ohio Valley Conference opener for both teams Saturday night in Richmond.

Backup quarterback Kyle Romano completed three of four passes, including a touchdown. The Colonels (2-1) piled up 421 yards and converted 11 of 17 third downs.

Lucas Williams kicked three field goals and Coney hit Joel Brown for a 6-yard touchdown before Trey Taylor's 1-yard run put Austin Peay (0-4) on the board.

Thomas Owens had a 17-yard interception return with two minutes left in the first half and Thomas had a 9-yarder for a score at 41 seconds for a 30-7 lead.

Adam Lane and Thomas had short runs and Romano connected with Taylor Miller on a 6-yard score in the third.

Morehead State 34, Davidson 0: Austin Gahafer threw for four touchdowns and host Morehead State blanked Davidson. Gahafer, a former St. Xavier standout, completed touchdown passes of 11 and 73 yards to Justin Cornwall for the first two scores as the Eagles (2-2, 1-0 Pioneer League) raced to a 27-0 halftime lead.

Gahafer's other two scoring throws were 20 yards to Jake Raymond and 42 yards to Darius Pritchett.

Gahafer finished 19-for-35 for 281 yards. Cornwall had 95 yards receiving on four catches. Rob Harden added another 108 yards rushing. Gahafer has figured in all 14 Eagles touchdowns this season, throwing for 11 and rushing for the other three.

Reinhardt 32, Pikeville 28: The Bears took a 28-19 lead into the fourth quarter before the Eagles rallied for the victory in Waleska, Ga.

Pikeville's Sani Warren, a former Belfry standout, threw three touchdown passes, including two to Jamon Langford. Langford finished with a program-record 187 receiving yards.

The Bears' Quan Weaver (Frankfort) rushed for 135 yards and a score, giving him four games with 100 plus yards this season.

Chicago 49, Centre 30: Centre saw its 14-game regular-season winning streak snap.

Lexingtonian Amoh Kumengisa paced the Centre rushing attack with 123 yards on 15 carries, while Nolan Coulter added 29 for 112 yards and a touchdown.

Heath Haden finished with 152 yards passing, completing 13-of-34 passes to go along with a touchdown.

Kentucky State 21, Central State 17: The Thorobreds together a fourth quarter drive to pull out a win after the offense had been held scoreless until then. Charles Johnson broke free for 58 yards and Alex Springs found Corey Slaughter for what would be the winning touchdown.

Thomas More 45, Westminster 14: Unbeaten Thomas More never trailed, outgaining the Titans 418 yards to 281. C.T. Tarrant rushed for 45 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries and added two catches for seven yards and another touchdown.

Faulkner 44, Georgetown 0: Faulkner earned its first-ever shutout while putting the Tigers on the wrong end of one for the first time a Bill Cronin-coached team failed to score a point in his 19-year career.
