Former University of Kentucky standout Logan Darnell, now part of the Minnesota Twins organization, pitched two scoreless innings of relief to earn his first win of the season in Triple-A Rochester's 5-2 defeat of Syracuse on Saturday afternoon.
Darnell (1-0) gave up two hits and one walk. He has a 3.60 ERA in five appearances.
■ Trevor Gott (Tates Creek, UK) earned his third save in his third opportunity by pitching one scoreless inning in Double-A Arkansas' 3-1 victory at Springfield.
The Los Angeles Angels prospect has a 1.35 ERA in six appearances.
■ Max Kuhn (UK) was 1-for-2 with an RBI single and two walks in Class A Beloit's 4-3 victory against Clinton. The Oakland A's prospect is batting .196 in 16 games.
■ Chandler Shepherd (Lawrence County, UK) pitched two innings of relief and earned the first save of his minor league career in Class A Greenville's 4-3 win against Asheville.
Shepherd, 1-0 with a 1.93 ERA this season, gave up two runs. Only one of those was earned.
Teammate Jared Procyshen (Northern Kentucky) added an RBI single for the Drive.
■ Saturday's game between the Class A Lexington Legends and the West Virginia Power in Charleston, W.Va., was rained out.
The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Sunday. The first of two seven-inning games will begin at 12:05 p.m.
■ Late Friday night, former Owensboro Catholic and Louisville star Stewart Ijames hit his sixth home run of the season in High-A Visalia's 3-2 win over Stockton.
Ijames, an Arizona Diamondbacks prospect, was 3-for-4 and also got his fourth double. He's batting. 362 in 13 games this season.
