On a day when John Calipari could have been relaxing with some Cheetos, the University of Kentucky basketball coach instead took to the radio to defend one of his former players.
Calipari jokingly told reporters during a news conference Thursday that this should be a time of year for relaxation for a college basketball coach.
"Everybody else is toes up eating Cheetos and we’re having a press conference,” Calipari said.
After filling reporters' notebooks Thursday, Calipari filled the airwaves Friday, making an appearance on Colin Cowherd's ESPN Radio talk show to defend Washington Wizards guard and former Cat John Wall.

Cowherd has been critical of Wall since the point guard's rookie year, when he criticized Wall for dancing during the Wizards' team introductions.
“You’ve got to stop on John Wall,” the coach told Cowherd among comments The Washington Post later wrote about. “You’re out of your mind. He did something six years ago when he was 19 years old. He does a dance. What was the name of the dance? Stop. That was seven years ago."
